Welcome to May! Things at site are pretty quiet these days, just getting back into the swing of things after vacation. The first week back went well, work passed quickly enough and I survived the brutally hot and humid rides to and from work. I love a good cold bucket shower these days. The family dog had puppies a few weeks ago! She dug a little cave under a pile of lumber so my little sister and I have been going each day and peaking in to try and see the puppies. They are black and white and there are 4 or 5 of them I’m not exactly sure but they are getting kind of big so I’m sure they’ll be wandering out any day now, very excited to play with new puppies!
Thursday I went to another party with my family, this was a new house/new baby party? I’m not exactly sure but it was fun. I got another new shirt (silver) so I wore that for the first time, did my own make up but went and got my hair done again. My host mom told me that the season for all these parties is pretty much over and will start up again in September when we have Pchum Ben. Pchum Ben is the first holiday I celebrated with my host family at site; I’ve almost come full circle!
I’ve been doing massive amounts of laundry lately. For about a month I was pretty much in and out of site and even though I would have laundry done while I was away my laundry basket was dominating my tiny room for far too long. Today I washed my jeans so the last hurdle is washing my big fitted sheet.
Today has been very productive, I cleaned my room, organized my trunk, filled my water filter, did laundry, showered, ate lunch and now it’s almost noon and it’s starting to rain. I’ll probably spend a good chunk of the afternoon reading.
I’m heading to Phnom Penh in a few weeks for Mid Service Training and the 50th anniversary celebration at the Embassy. It will be really fun to see all the other PCV’s again; the whole group hasn’t been together for training since….November??
Any recommendations for movies to pick up while I’m in PP?
Hope all is well at home!

The Kings Speach is supposed to be very good.
It’s always a pleasure to hear what is going on. It’s been quite a while since I’ve been to the movies so I’m a dud in helping in that area. I’m sure you’ll find some good ones.
Love ya,
Rosie
Bubby always said,”Take a shower and you will feel 100% better!”.. I suppose that goes for bucket baths as well.
I love you,
Mom
Bridesmaids! I’m not sure if you’ll be able to get it just yet, but I know you’ll get a kick out of it.
