“she won’t eat crickets, she has a cold”
…yes, the cold is why I won’t eat crickets.
Today we were at the wat for yet another holiday my sister happily ate some crickets while I made faces at her. Later that evening when we were home I found a cricket and told her to eat it. She didn’t hesitate to smash it with her shoe, pull random legs off and then chase me around the front yard with the little dead cricket body.
“Eeee!!* eat it!!!”
“NO! NO! Don’t throw it in my room!! I need to go take a shower!”
I hope this scene was as amusing to the kids next door trying to learn English as it was to me.
* “E” is what my little sister calls me it is the familiar form of the title that basically means “younger aunt” because I’m a little younger than her parents.
Wonder if eating a cricket would qualify as eating meat? Have one roasted and let us know what they taste like.
